This program presents an overview of today's media environment at the local and national levels and how to develop a media strategy for your pre-trial publicity issues.

This program examines the various approaches that benefit your client, such getting out in front of the story or determining if it is better to be quiet "no comment". Writing press releases to make them quotable and how to get the word out and read are another issue that is examined. Learning to develop relationships with the media that can work for you with your current client case. When to sell overt versus covert messages to accomplish getting out your version of the story. The conclusion is to accomplish your objectives to benefit the client while still sustaining adherence to ethical issues and rules.

This program will provide the participant with the knowledge and tools necessary to identify the current legal trends with respect to dealing with the media in the form of print media; broadcast media; cable; and, internet (blogs, twitter, Facebook).
