This material provides an in-depth examination of the process and procedure mediation.   Finally, the preparation and conduct of mediation are analyzed along with the document of agreement.

Steps in the program are: what happens at a mediation; when to mediate; why does mediation work; preparation for the mediation; conduct of the mediation; and documentation of agreement. 

This program provides an overview of mediation as a procedure whereby an independent and impartial third party promote and facilitate the resolution of a dispute between participants. Mediation proceedings and information obtained from the parties through the mediation process shall be confidential.

The role of the mediator is one if impartial third party with the objective of mediation being that of an agreement that addresses the needs and interests of all parties.

The mediation ground rules are presented to the participants and there is a discussion of facts and opinions then an exchange of offer then documentation of agreement by parties.
